It keeps locking up for me and taking ages when I want to enter the Mission Control bit........ I have to close the browser and restart.
Ok, there seems to be more than slight problems this week with the server that runs promisealways.com alongside several other sites. For the techys amongst you...... ...it's to do with a rouge httpd that is eating up massive amounts of system resources (at one point today it hit 127% - fuck knows how that is possible) which makes all the sites grind to a crawl at best and fall over at worst. To fix this one of our techy twats restarted the server which promptly corrupted the database that holds all the threads ever posted on the board (this is a bad thing). That should be ok cause he was supposed to do a back up last night, needless to say he didn't as he was at The Tuesday Club (dnb night in sheffield) getting twatted (this is also a bad thing). After a bit a swearing and the like he managed to fix the database and promised to back it up as he's supposed to from now on (which is a good thing). Back to the original problem, to fix it we are moving services onto a backup server one by one to locate the problem and then kill it off. I am told this will make everything ship-shape by Monday (which is also a good thing). So there you go. For the non-techys amongst you...... ... it broke and we are fixing it. For the Mark & Richard...... ...it never broke, it must of been your 'insert excuse here'.
