    FAO Sheffield Folk...

    or anyone that knows Sheffield.

Me and some mates are going down to watch Sunderland vs Sheff Utd on 4th October, can anyone recommend anywhere we can have a good drink before the match? Is it feasible to drink in the centre and walk/tram/bus/taxi it from there?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Nah, its a bit out of the way, quite close to Arundel Uni and Crasher. There are 2 Wetherspoons in the town centre, one is called the Bankers Draft IIRC, can't remember what the other one is called, maybe just Wetherspoons!

Towny - Bar Coast, Empire, Matrix.

    Posh/nice - Sola, Lion's lair.

    Normal - The Forum.

All within 5 mins walk of city centre. You can get a tram to Hillsborough but is it safe if you're not local???

    Serious question, I don't know.

I have been in Sheffied before with two mates i have off GC board who live in the north east - we ended up driving up a one way street with a tram coming towards us

Its a strange place to say the least for car access !

We live to tell the tale and it was funny at the time, i got to GC safely and home safely so i am grateful !

    :D :D
