    Yo Goalking-footie idea!

Are there any 5-a-side pitches in the area?

I know i havent even started playing yet so tell me to butt out if ya want, but if you booked a 5-aside pitch it would be ok if 8people turned up, i know this wouldnt be good for this week, on the other hand if more suddenly turned up than expected then it would be ok if you have 3teams of6, with each team sitting off for 5minutes at a time, that way you would get 10 mins on5mins off. I have tried this and it works really well, although i didnt think it would at first!

So this way it would be ok if 8 to 18 turned up.

    What you think?

Its a canny idea you have there.. but if all went well the problem would not be the number of peeps turning up.. it'd be getting the pitch.

Organising a weekly 7-a-side game takes a bit of effort.. most places only allow you to book 7 days in advance i.e if you ring on wednesday, you can book the following wednesday. Even then, the slots that are available are pretty popular, so you'll find yourself calling the place at 9am every week battling to get that slot before anyone else does.

Then you gotta think of when its a good time for everyone to play.. last time i started this it took the best part of a month before we all agreed on an acceptable time/date/available pitch.

Next.. the price people pay is always based on how many turn up. Typical price for 5-a-side is £35, 7-a-side is £45.. in either case if the right number of people turn up then they can expect to pay £3.50. Any less and the price goes up divided on the number of players.

So.. to get any of these factors to match up and get a regular game going is a miracle in itself.
