James Barton = Visionary Of Dance Remember when we all read the following & thought is was crap in 09/2002!!!! Due to a shift in dance trends from nightclubs towards large-scale events and festivals the Cream group announced today that it is entering into a 30 day review period to assess the future of its nightclub operation at Nation in Liverpool. The company has experienced first hand a significant shift away from the weekly club nights towards the highly successful large-scale events like Creamfields and Cream X10 arena tour. Quote from James Barton CEO Cream ... James Barton C.E.O. “10 years on it is time to re-evaluate where we are as a company and assess where that fit's into today's market. It's clear that young people want so much more from the Cream experience. This is evident from the massive success of Creamfields over the last five years, the popularity of Ibiza 2002, and the success of the Cream x10 arena tour this year.
Re: James Barton = Visionary Of Dance Yip, he was right, and he's got the right attutude towards todays dance culture, he knows what people want and what they want after that, sort of predictable might you say. And he even had the balls to pull his own night from nation that was'nt doing well and try something else.
Re: Re: James Barton = Visionary Of Dance Hardly took balls, he was getting shit crowds. It was a pure business decision not a gutsy move for the good of the scene.
Re: Re: Re: James Barton = Visionary Of Dance yeah but when you pull a night off the scene as big as cream and leave many clubbers wondering if its going to return or not, you've gotta have balls to make a big desicion.
Re: Re: Re: Re: James Barton = Visionary Of Dance Not really, when your coining it in off pishy dance music and ibiza compilations.
Other clubs probably managed to hang on a bit longer because he got out - same amount of clubbers but less big nights, so the more clubs that close, the better the ones that stay open will do.
