The easy way out as in it means he didn't have to go through a massively expensive trial that could have lasted ages. It doesn't mean easy way out as in he just gets away with without actually admitting it. Out of court settlements are not meant to imply guilt in any way.

Yeah but if he got locked up he would probably buy the jail and the whole state it was in and make himself king of the state, and still have double the amount that cost him left. Lifes harsh.

Some sexual abuse cases in america are civil actions not criminal ones. The same way assault is here. I think it was the boys family pressing charges to be awarded damages, not the police charging him.

nah i don't think it should be either, and i'm not 100% sure about the american legal system. I think that's right though, am sure i remember reading it somewhere.
