BBC Signs Mobo Awards To Exclusive Deal

The BBC has today announced a landmark deal with the prestigious MOBO Awards which will bring the event exclusively to the BBC for three years from Autumn 2004.

The deal will see Europe’s biggest and most credible urban music awards show being screened on BBC ONE with additional programming on other BBC channels including Radio 1 and 1Xtra. In previous years the ceremony has been a showcase for the biggest names in British and international urban music. Destiny’s Child, Usher, Jamelia, 50 Cent, Tina Turner, Craig David, Jay-Z and Big Brovaz are just some of the more than 1,000 guests to have appeared on the show

Lorraine Heggessy, Controller BBC ONE said of the awards: “The MOBO Awards is Europe’s premier awards ceremony for the best in urban music and as such it is entirely fitting that the awards should be screened on BBC ONE. In addition to the main ceremony we are able to offer significant cross platform opportunities which will bring real added depth to the MOBOs experience for our audience.”

Kanya King MBE, MOBO Awards founder & CEO added: “We are delighted to be joining forces with the BBC to screen what promises to be the most exciting event yet! This partnership will allow MOBO to deliver the greatest exposure for artists and urban music while simultaneously providing new opportunities for MOBO to reach an ever expanding audience.”

People on here wont like it due to the fact that we're all so KrAzYEE we don't like that sort of music.

I don't mind it but a show dedicated to R&B and hip hop etc would bore me to tears :D
