The Cumberland Arms and the Cluny down the tyne valley are both cool for a sunny afternoon, Hancock is pretty good if yer in town as well.

The Southfield in Boro. Spent the past 5 summers outside there n this year will be no different

Times Square - about the only place in the town centre where you can sit outside without being next to a main road.

Other than that, there's the Telegraph, The Cluny, Free Trade. Basically anywhere you're not breathing in traffic fumes.

black bull, yarm. even got a bar and a toilet block outside so you don't have to fight your way back inside once it gets busy.

Osbourne road is not bad. Too many people like me (students), athough I'm not your typical student! but it's cheap!
