I spent 2 and a half days working at Blurb Direct, you had to phone people up and pretend they had won a mobile phone, all they had to do was sign up to a 12 month contract with one to one, was shit.

About a month later the chronicle had a cover story on them about their dubious sales techniques which were illegal

the arschlochs told me they were flexible with hours,

turns out flexibility to them means you either work 11am till 7pm or 1pm till 9pm.

after 90 mins i left, i guess i just wasnt flexible enough.

not to mention having no social life what so ever.

about six weeks, when I worked for Cafe Rock/DH1 as a barman in Durham.

The place was ok to work at, but one of the staff (who shall remain nameless) did my nut in, she snapped at the least bit thing. She was a friend (and the friend who told me of the job), that coupled with the fact my ex was in there almost every week drove me mental

looking back, it was the best thing I ever did :)

worked for 2 days, a monday and a thursday of a week.

was in the hospital resturaunt...told i was going to be just serving food, then when i got there i was told i had to prepare the salads 1st...all well and good apart from my eczema is made 1000 times worse by raw vegetables (cant even eat them without my lips swelling up) So i asked for gloves to wear while i was cutting up the tomatos.

The only gloves they could give me were latex...also have a rather nasty latex allergy...they said there was nothing else i could do, i had to either get the juice on my hands or wear the gloves...so i left the gloves on the side, thinking...well, a little bit of juice on my hands is better than having latex all over.

absolute agony, itching like mad, woke up the next morning with oozing fingers, went in and they said i couldnt work with food like that and sent me home. went to the doctors, got some cream, applied cream, put on cotton gloves.

woke thursday, fingers no better, foned the agency then had to phone the resturaunt. they said they would get some other gloves in for thursday.

went in on thursday with bandaged fingers to find they hadnt botehred to get ne more gloves, told them i couldnt work like this and left.

so technically 4 days employment but didnt really work 4 days.
