Due to the illegalisation (?) of magic mushrooms on the 18th of this month, i decided to buy some for the final time.

This morning, i phoned up 'The Festival Shop' in Middlesbrough where we usually buy them from and asked if they still had any in stock. The gentleman said yes. I asked, how many gramms we would get for £20. the gentleman said '40 as we're giving extra if you spend more than £10' I asked what time he was open till and he replied 'half 5' i said thankyou and goodbye.

I went to work at 3pm and my boyfriend went threw to middlesboro with £25, £3.70 for the train and £20 for the mushrooms.

On arriving at the festival shop, he was served by a woman. He said he had £20 and could he have some mushrooms. They conversed while she put some in the bag. She mentioned again that they are giving more to people who spend more than £10, boyfriend stated that because they were being made illegal, this was the last time 'my girlfriend and i' will be taking them. They discussed growboxes, she said 'that will be £20 please' he gave her the money, she gave him the bag, said thankyou and left.


I phoned boyfriend on my break to make sure he had got them ok. He said 'yes but there doesnt seem to be that many'. I started to get a little stressed as, as stupid as it may sound, that money is to last the week, but as this is my 1st full weekend off for 3 weeks, i didnt care, i wanted to enjoy myself.

I got home and looked at the mushrooms and there are hardly any. I have weighed them...and found we were given 11grams.

I dont have the money to go back through there. I am going to ring them in the morning and ask what happened. But as far as i can see we have been 100% ripped off by the bitch. There isnt even enough in the bag for us both to take them. She knew it was for 2 trips, she even said that we would be getting extra and then has given us next to nothing. There is no recipt, no name on the bag. Nothing.

I dont know what to do about this. Please someone help?

ok, pretend its not about drugs. Pretend i went to a Coffee Shop and bought Coffee Beans. If I was told that i would get so many coffee beans for £20, and then found that i had actually been sold 1/4 of the stated amount, would i have any rights?

It could have been a genuine mistake .... if not Id kick up a fuss. You have the rule of the customer is always right on your side!

I'd just tell u not to waste the last of your money on coffee beans and get something more worthwhile, like mushrooms

Hehe on a serious note though, u should ring up n tll them about your concern and see how they react. If they're understanding etc tell them u cant afford to go back there n back and maybe they'll give u the busfare back if you can somehow just GET there again. If not, keep them and tell the police you've just been served a bag of mushrooms on the 19th

Does it work like that? Surely getting hold of them in such a way that involves a shop selling them to you, then realising they're illegal and handing them over to the police isn't a crime. We're obviously all law abiding people and never like to buy things that are illegal afterall.

so your gonna walk into a cop shop and say "wey ive got a long stretch in me back burner, but ill tell you where i got them and you can let me off"

I'm prety sure the act of handing over drugs (weapons etc) to the police willingly would contain some sort of amnesty would it not? I'm almost certain it would.

What happens if you walk down your street and find a bag of pills. Being aware that the little kids next door could have them down their neck 5 mins later you wouldnt want to just leave them there. Going to the police and handing them over for them to dispose of would be the correct thing to do. Buying a bag of mushrooms the day after they've been banned then realising your mistake and handing them over to be disposed of may be a little more precarious but I don't see why it would be a bad thing for them to know someone put a foot over the line then stepped back again.

ok, im gonna fone them up 2mrw explian what happened and tell them i think it was just a mistake on her part, and she didnt weigh them properly. and ask them if theres anything they can do. ill let them know i cant afford to get threw there, and see weather they have any views on how to rectify the problem...if they dont suggest anything, i will suggest they either refund my money (i will give them the mushrooms back) or give me the rest of the mushrooms i was entitled to.

if they dont do ne of them, then they're going in the freezer till the 19th

considering you're now skint, and have no more money for the rest of the week, doesn't that mean you won't be able to get back accross there till at least Monday which is when it all becomes illegal?

its £3.70 return on the train. if i fone them and they say that i can haev some more/refund whatever, then im sure i can find 4 mates to lend me £1 each.
