because women function on a much more emotional level, and show they are upset etc, men still feel the same, although are much more practical creatures.

Yeah and fully face up to that fact. Men on the other hand are just as insecure but they LIE to cover it up - huge sign of weakness!

i don't think men do take them better, i think because men just rip each other all day long for fun, they think that when someone does abuse them its just for fun. Its only when they realise there being serious that men start to get pissed off.

where as women slag each other off behind there backs so, think that everyone likes each other, so when they do hear some abuse about them they think its serious and therefore get offended.

therefore ladies you should grief each other more.

Conversationally, men seek 'one upmanship' in british society - which is show through the use of derogatory nicknames, pub arguments and 'personal digs' which are covered means of men competing for domination.

In conversation, women in britain have a habit of 'one downmanship' where they seek emotional security by the complimenting of each other, but at the expense of themselves (for instance "i love your new hairdo, i wish i could have mine looking as good as yours")

In this world of blurred gender relationships - men expect women to be able to take the same kind of banter they have been brought up to have with their male friends... and vice versa. Unfortunately as much as we regard ourselves as more social beings these days - we are still men and women.

    Perhaps :)
