2 Things that have annoyed me this week!

*rant*

1. People have been complaining about the yorkie advert saying its sexist and should be pulled from broadcast, if youve seen it you can tell its totally tongue in cheek and funny! It sticks in your mind making you think of buying a yorkie! However a certain 'pledge' advert is far worse and manages to put women back in the home looking after the kids cleaning. Theres no dad in the advert and it shows mum rushing around using pledge dust wipes so she can clean the house is record time, leaving time for her to look after the kids etc etc, then they claim they are a 'family' company! I find this far more demeaning than an advert for some chocolate which has always advertised itself as a masculine chunky chocolate bar! The 'echo' advert shows men being thankfull for chocolate cos without it all women would go mad, this isnt too bad either as its quite funny to think that without chocolate all mens lives would be hell!

2. Channel 4, do a program called 'the truth about lesbian sex', fair enough, but then why is the next program in the series 'the truth about gay animals' ??? Why can't they show the other side of it and do a program about homosexual sex? I know why this annoys me but i cant put it into words, it could have been a good way to get rid of some people misconceptions of gay men and create a better understanding, but no they had to totally skirt the issue and go onto gay animals? Who cares? I think it makes a mockery of trying to understand a different persons lifestyle or point of view!

am sure theres loads of other things i need to rant about but this'll do for now

Not to mention that it completely sensationalised the issue while trying to be serious! I mean, those women in San Fran! Honestly. Any women who may have been considering it would have been put right off!

because the producers of the show are probably straight men... lesbian sex is a very worthwhile subject, animals having sex is funny as fook....but homosexual sex is a no-go area!

And most people think they already know what gay men do!

Thats exactly what i thought was pathetic, it could have been a really good eyeopener that could have made people more understanding, instead they just turned it into a ratings thing.

i think that lesbian sex "appeals" to a wider range of viewers, where as gay sex wouldnt. some men find lesbian sex erotic, but i dont think i know any women who would find gay sex erotic. and most men definitely too worried to watch a programme on gay relationships incase they find themselves liking the idea

Innit, i dont see the need for the program in the forst place to be honest! Sex is sex, do people think that gay men and lesbians do something abnormal and unusual that hetero people dont? I think it was just an excuse to show a bit of flesh, the truth about sex in general was much better, they should have just done what channel 5 does and shown some soft porn

Exactly! Men wouldnt admit that their curious, not about trying it themselves but about what goes on, It may be more appealing but that doesnt mean they shouldnt do it, they should take a chance and i bet if they had a lot more people than they thought would have watched it and been able to form an educated opinion!
