I said yesterday I think this was deliberate, he knew what he was doing & knew what a red card would mean. What ever the ruck in camp he needs to realise that no other club would have the patience with him that we've given, bigger clubs he could move to simply wouldn't stand for the way he goes on & he'd be offloaded within months, we've stuck by him through Injury/Jail & he goes & hammers yet another nail in the coffin by getting suspended meaning he wont play again (if he ever does) until next season.

I think it's safe to say regardless of what league we play in next season I think Barton, Martins & Owen have played there last game of football in a Newcastle shirt.

Did people think he would come back and be a new man or something? He's a micey prick and he deserves fuck all.
I just hope Newcastle have suspended him without wages.

Sky sports news has just reported that he is "suspended indefinateley" aswell. i am over the moon he will not b playing for us again, why has it took twelve months? and £195,000 per game in wages to decide that? we should have sacked him after the fight in McDonalds in liverpool

    Is Barton deluded?

    Barton barred
    Official Club Statement, Tuesday:

Newcastle United can confirm that Joey Barton has
been suspended from the Club until further notice.

The Club will be making no further comment on the matter at this time.

The statement was released following various versions of what happened in the away dressing room on Sunday appearing in the press on Tuesday.

The Sun ran their story as an exclusive, containing a witness account from the ubiqituous club insider:

“It was unbelievable. They were like two stags.

“Shearer told Barton he had made a mistake putting him back in the team, that he thought Barton was good enough to do it but he had shown he wasn’t.

“Joey shouted at Alan that he was the best player at the club, which was why he had to play him.

“Alan said he wasn’t, called him s*** and Joey replied that he was a s*** manager with s*** tactics.

“At that point, it looked like they were going to have a full-scale brawl and had to be dragged apart.

“Shearer was really angry, not just because of the stupid red card but because it means Barton will be missing for the last three Premier League games when Newcastle need everyone available.

“Alan gave Joey the big build-up during the week, saying what an important player he could be in Newcastle’s fight against relegation, and then he does that.

“You wonder what goes on in Joey’s head.”

Shearer has vowed to fine Barton two weeks’ wages of around £120,000 and has washed his hands of the midfield hot-head.

“Joey shouted at Alan that he was the best player at the club, which was why he had to play him" - Fuck me the Circus gets better...

"Joey said he was the best player at the club and that's why Alan had to play him.

Alan said he wasn't and called him shit"

He has been given countless amounts of chances at Newcastle (and Man City before the Dabo incident) and he continues to act like a total cunt on & off the pitch

The story running along side this one is that Shearer is upsetting the players by questioning their attitude towards the club. Cant see the problem in that myself, but at the end of the day we were stupid enough to pay average players mega wages, so why would they need to have any sort of feeling for the club

Thats the only good thing I can actually salvage from the possibility of relegation, it'll offload all those that have & continue to bleed the club for thousands week in week out, the types of players that can sit at home injury prone for half a season on £60,000+ a week & when they've came back they've not given 2 fucks about the state of the club & simply not prepared to put the graft in to pull us out the shit.

And who better to question the cunts than Shearer, on his day - undisputed. And came back not once but twice from career threatening injuries & continued to do the business.

Were in the worst position we've been in for over 10 years & we have huge key players like Owen who's non existant for 90 minutes, Martins calling in sick hours before big games & Barton coming back from 5 months out to earn himself a 3 match ban? absolutely crazy.

It'll be really interesting to see where most of these players would go, how much they'd actually get & how long they'd last at another Premiership club with 'their ways' & huuuuuuuge spells out season after season.

I think the Premiership in general is heading this way tbh mate. At our game on Sunday it got me thinking about the state of the Premiership in more general terms, as i was watching 11 players most of whom have been signed for big money who couldn't give a fuck about the club, the fans or the fact that their lack of effort looks like it could be getting us relegated for the 4th time in 10 years.

In all my time watching Sunderland i have many times seen us go down through having a squad of players who weren't good enough, though gave 100% and went down through a lack of footballing talent. This season would be the worst to take though, as there is no doubting the talent in the side though they couldn't give a fuck about the club and regardless of what happens as long as they are picking up their pay packets they couldn't give 2 fucks about the club.

I am massively disillusioned with the Premiership at the moment, not just with Sunderland though the whole league in general. Take away the top 6 sides and everyone else is more or less just looking to survive year on year, with no hope of silverware or any real achievement other than maybe a carling cup that the top sides don't take seriously.

I thought to myself on Sunday that i would possibly rather pack in watching Sunderland and start going to somewhere like Gateshead, where its real football and local lads playing for the love of the game and their club and not foreigners picking up each week wage packets that it will take me years to earn.

Your dead on mate & it's whats crippling us the most. Theres no sense of passion or pride with the squad, it's heartbreaking to watch them not give a fuck. It's such a sad story when you look back at the players that were at one point battling to get 1st team football: Beardsley, Batty, Rob Lee, Ferdinand etc... proper grafters who actually give a shit.

Were surrounded by these Internationals & Foreign Internationals who dont get what the clubs about, were not like Chelsea or Man U etc... were a club that has to rely on the players we have as we dont have a potential 3 full starting 11's to fall back on if players go out injured for any length of time.

Obviously theres underlying issues at St James & it's caused unrest in camp, Ashley's had a big part to play in this & i only think he's now (which is too late) begining to realise the mistakes he's made with the Keegan/Wise affair & the 2 signings he made behind his back... not to mention trying to run a football club from the other end of the Country, it just doesnt work & were a perfect example. However, we've had the chances to turn it round, ANOTHER new manager/training staff, easy fixtures & it seems we cant or simply dont want to.

Iv'e accepted the fact if we go down & even tried to pull positives from it, whats more worrying is what the fuck we gunna do if we manage to scrape it & stay up!? We now have proof that at least half the squad that doesn't want to get their hands dirty for the club when it comes down to it & the ones that do simply aren't good enough or cant hack Premiership football anymore - I.e Duff, Butt...

If we do stay up, then major changes will be needed if we are going to escape another season like this one. The soap opera of Newcastle to one side, the underlying fact of why we are in the bottom three is because we deserve to be there.

Thinking positive tho, I do think we have a slight chance of staying up, but its whether the players can pull together & actually play.

And the comment above from Graham about Sunderland getting relegated with players giving 100% who werent good enough - what I wouldnt give for that! We have players in our team who are internationals, with years of premiership experience, yeah their not at the top of their game but the quality in your game doesnt dissappear over night, so why cant they graft? Put some effort it?
