Lee Bowyer will re-ignite his career by joining Newcastle United.Bowyer, available on a free after leaving West Ham, is set to sign a £40,000-a-week, five-year deal on Tyneside.

Newcastle have so far refused to comment but Sky Sports News understands that the deal will go through.

Toon boss Bobby Robson is a long-term admirer of the energetic midfielder, who would link up again with former Leeds team-mate and close friend
Jonathan Woodgate.
