How is he doing this illusion? or is he just starving himself

glucose/vitamins in his water..
food in his nappy..
its not him its saddam...

i fail to see how its an illusion. it cant be really. how can he blag it when hes suspended in a plastic box over the fucking thames?

hes just pushing the body beyond its limits and maybe using some of the 90% unsused part of the brain to acheive it. i dont know. im very open minded to this sort of thing.

but hes said that anyone can test the water at any time for things like that tho

no food. co sthat would defeat the object of the stunt considering hes starving himself for 44 days and 44 nights. hes allowed water through a straw thing and obviously air holes or he'd suffocate

It doesn't impress me that much, it's been hyped beyond all belief and he is after all a famous illusionist.

he's a very strange yet clever man!!! he's pushing his body to its limits...he could die in that box...or go blind cos of the lack of food!!!

he's attracted major attention through this & love him or hate him your talking bout it!!!

More to the point, why is he being called an "illusionist" and being compared to Houdini. Houdini was a master magician, illusionist and escapologist - probably one of the most innovative in the world ever. This is not a magic trick nor an illusion. It's a 44 day hunger strike.

I'm in no way denying that Blaine has had more impact than any other magician in the last couple of decades - he's destroyed the image of the pompus twat in a top hat and tails and made magic....dare I say...cool!

Because he has done this it seems these new "stunts" he is doing are being mistaken for tricks, which they are not.

I like David Blaine (most magicians don't), but I don't think this is even half as interesting or exciting as his PR team would have the world believe. Quite franky, I find the concept boring...

Saw him on saturday - he looked a right porker, the tv has been taking pounds off on above the below.

Don't think this is an illusion, the body can handle losing 10% of its weight, when you get to 15-20% your classed as semi-starving, side effects are lack of weight long periods of rest, depression and weakness as he's sat ina box and burning up no energy... he can go without food for a longtime, there is a blanket to block out the sun so he shouldn't sweat like a pedo in a playground.... very little energy is needed... As he only plans to lose 20% of his body weight this is a very safe stunt.

Think the good side will be when he pretends to crack up like any good showman would

Blaine grew up with a magician called Paul Harris who is one of the strangest people in the world. He has zen-like theories on magic and creating a "moment of astonishment" for people. Crazy stuff but fuckin ingenious!!

some canny points there paul...tis true i'm not to fascinated by a man half killing himself for the crack but some of his tricks are amazing!!! how he does some of his street magic is mad & amazing....
