    effects units

    kaos pad 2 and the pioneer EFX-500 are roughly the same price, which is the better of the two, im liking the look of the kaos touch pad thing, anyone used both that can help?

    I used to have a Kaoss pad, novelty value wears off after about a hour:lol:

    Got the Pioneer DJM-600 with built in effects - they're not that great to be fair.

    I cant say they make a massive difference to Umeks sets - who is pretty good at using them

    Kaoss pads are OK, it's just really hard to master them properly- I don't think I'd have the patience
    I used to have an EFX-500 which was good but I didn't think it was worth the money plus it didn't have a sampler.
    You can get some pretty good modular fx- the alesis modfx are excellent and pretty cheap -£70 a unit or £30 to buy from the US cos each one just does one effect, they let you do loads with each type of effect, The filter is excellent and there's about 15 different ones that do different things, means you can buy them separately to so not loads to shell out at a time.
