    Extended licencing?

Other cities such as Sheffield have crasher which is on until 6am every week.

Newcastle only has parties until 2/3/4am.

Does anyone know if this is going to change soon, or if the govt are ever planning to put their 24hr pub licences into practise?

Leaving at 3 or 4 am is not enough for me (and probably a lot of others), and 2am is way too early. Promise could be so much better if it was on until 6am, then we could truly dance the night away.

Any plans for this? Or are the council too stingy with their licences?

i like the times promise is open, as they are now...dunno bout u but sometimes bein in a club till 6 in the mornin can get a bit borin...not always though! stayin open till 4 is just right i think...unless the nite is super dooper fantastic then it should be kept open till everyone stops dancin!

How about until 6am maybe one Friday a month?

It's just in Newcastle we never get ANY all-nighters, except when rare events like the GK Carnival come.

Any thoughts on once a month?

    ignore sloppy he's just a big woofter :p :D

Newcastle council have lately started being sympathetic to our cause, look at gk that was a late finish and the Promise birthday has a late lisence of 6am

If the council permit it once and it goes smoothly I'm sure it'll be permitted gain..

So lets hope the birthday goes smoothly :D

I think the birthday is going to be amazing and I know that you'll enjoy it too... mauro is short hard blasts is quality - mauro for 6 hours is more zzzzy than any horsey snuff.

I agree though 3/4am normally and 6am for special events like say erm halliwell :D

    eddie halliwell
    johan gielen
    scot project

I agree on Scot Project. He rules!

    My dream lineup would be:

    Kai Tracid
    Marco V
    Anne Savage
    Armin van Buuren
    Scot Project

And then preferably an after-party taking us into the afternoon :D

Often 6am isn't enough for me, which is ashame. After the GK carnival we were dying to find an after-party, but couldn't find anything. I had to settle for drinking from afternoon onwards, so that the night out seemed really long, but it's just not the same :(

    2am: never enough
    3am: never enough
4am: sometimes I want to go home, rarely though
    5am: sometimes it's enough
6am: about half the time I want to go home, half the time I want to keep going

Some nights I can go forever lol. Depends what mood I'm in and how fit I'm feeling. 2am is just pathetic though, and I think most people will agree there.

i'll have no bad words for picotto. Was anyone there last time. The place was fucking electric. Amazing. Never endured a 6 hour set though. Imagine that would be tough.

3AM is far 2early, i would like to see promise on till at least 4am every week.

I would stay till 6am if it was on till then but i'm not sure how many people would still be at promise until 6am unless they is a specail line up on, like the birthday for example.

Oh yeah the time...got so excited about the birthday forgot why i was replying! :p

I think the times are fine as they are. Perhaps a few more 4 am finishes but I think promise finishing @ 6am every week wouldn't work. All the beer boys would have gone home by 3 and the club would be empty. The club is doing really well as it is and the promoters know which direction to go in....

yeah i doubt it would be worth having promise until 6am every week as it would most probably have emptied well out by then. Deffo some more 4am finishes though!

The GK Carnival was packed out at 6, the only people sitting down in the foyer were cyber kids. Too many cyber kids means the place is jumping at 3am but dead at 6. Look at Gatecrasher in Sheffield as an example. Foundation gets a healthy mixed crowd, who I think would dance the night away if they get the chance.

I agree 6am wouldn't work every week, it is not a big enough club. But 4am every Friday would work, with the odd party at 6am say once a month or maybe once every 6 weeks.

Obviously Promise know what they are doing, and they know more about this than me, but perhaps they would like extra hours themselves but are having trouble from the council?? Who knows. If anyone can put me right on this please enlighten me.

Personally, I think Newcastle needs later pubs and clubs, not just in Foundation, but Foundation would be a good start. My opinion anyway.

i think 6am is way to late for a normal friday night, for special occasions its ok cos its gives you time to fit in everything, i think 4am is good even though half the time im ready to go thinkin its 4 only to find out its 2.30, which can be really exhausting! :p

I find the best thing to do it not go till 11 or so :D
