External hard drives that play on ya telly

I've got loads of avi and other video files that I would like to play on me tellys without having to burn onto dvds, I think an external hd that I can move between the 2 would be ideal.

I know maplin had one for £99 a month ago or so but I can't find it now...

I'm not the best with mod cons so any help on where to find them, what to look for and specific models would be great.

    Cheers :D

have u got a usb port on your tv? as far as i'm aware, you'd have to have some sort fo 'browser' installed on the telly to look at the usb host device - so it was acting like a PC - which they don't, they're just display devices.

    i think.

You've redeemed your geek credentials with a sentence in which I can only understand the words telly and film.

was running Commando 8.2 for a bit which had a few more features (like IDE HD capacity) BUT currently Running Blade Trinity v2 - much more stable, nicer menus - not had any chirping/loss of channels - also steaming to VLC much better
