Very few hard house events at all, as no matter how much people say they want one, not enough turn up to make them commercially viable on a regular basis.

The last Thursday of every month there is Solid/Salvation (not sure which of these is going ahead, but one will be) at the Playrooms. Sunday Trading at the Egypt Cottage has some hard house (Kerry James plays there, usually the last Sunday of the month).

Other than that, things are pretty limited.

Solid was going quite well, and probably would have taken off properly eventually. Not sure what is happening with it at the moment, but if it doesn't carry on, Salvation will in its place.

the reason i think hard house nites dont work as well as they should is cos they always seem to be on week nites and not fridays and saturdays....people are always gonna be less reluctant to go out knowing they have work, college, etc. to get up for the next day...which isnt what u really want after a hard nite out is it!:D

Most of them are on week nights as it is so difficult to get a decent venue at the weekend.

From December to February Kerry and I ran Pull at Rockshots on Saturdays though, with some big hard house names booked for the first six weeks, like Steve Thomas, Alan Thompson, Rachel Auburn etc. Other than the first week when it was busy but we had problems with fire alarms, it was only towards the beginning of February that it started getting busy enough for us to be able to afford to continue. Unfortunately Rockshots then shut (nothing to do with us).

I have given up counting how many times people say they want a hard house night and then don't turn up when you put one on. We have done some that have been extremely successful, but doing a big night weekly with only your own finance is another matter.

could it also be down to a lack of decent venues though too?

I will make u all jealous now that i am residing in the midlands, cause im off to storm. hehe.

BOB do u recomend any hh clubs in london, me is goin down on the 29th, frantic?

I haven't really been to any hard house nights in London other than Trade, and when Freedom at Bagley's had hard house in one of the rooms.

From what I know of what is on though, I would go to Frantic without a doubt.

Cyberdog may be able to help as he lives down there.

Any of the camden palace events by frantic/nukleuz/storm are amazing and deffo the bestest thing in london@mo (timeless, HHA, etc.)

Crash on fridays was recommended by mates but I've never been.
Heaven is mediocre but sometimes have amazin line ups (lab 4, andy farley, etc.)

If you get the chance check out ali wilson, he's a london based up and coming dj and in my eyes is the bestest new talent on the UK ciccuit.

    Is insomnia still running?

oh and tidy london's meant to be ok I s'pose

SS used to be in newcastle quite often but i don't know why it stopped. It was at legends for the launch party for the first album, then it was at Ikon (not the best venue) and then on to cuba cuba.
Does anybody know why it stopped?

SSNE stopped partially due to the promoter up here being in his final year at university, and partially as they weren't getting the numbers in. Yes the last one at Cuba Cuba was busy, but think how many DJs they had to pay.

Cuba Cuba is alright, but it usually needs a lot of extra sound system putting in, which is expensive for the promoters.
