J-Punch - Temple (CP Recordings) Following the release of 'Leathersex' by the Thrill Kill Kult on Red Ant earlier this week, my remix of the brilliant J-Punch - 'Temple' finally comes out on CP Recordings this week too... JPunch - Temple Release Code: CPR007 Release Date: 8 September 2004 Side A: JPunch's Tribal Mix Side B: Paul Lancaster's No Escape Mix JPunch's Tribal Mix 'JPunch kicks off the disc with a sinister tribal affair to funk its way onto any dancefloor. A deep bassline and typical drum patterns chug to release the smooth "You Cannot Escape" vocal which is the signature line of the mix. The vocal causes an immense riff to interchange focus with a low lying synth line that contrasts the tribal feature. The track carries to a unique breakdown filled with pure emotion as it drops to a basic bongo pattern which is dubbed out to push forward the amazing heart felt emotion of the vocal and synth. The tribal kick rejoins the track in secretive fashion, to develop the track higher into a more intensive form. ' Paul Lancaster's No Escape Mix 'Paul Lancaster provides a remix that focuses on pure simplicity. The remix has already seen early support from James Zabiela, having made an appearance on his early acclaimed "4" compilation, 'Temple' appeared as a peak time track. Anthony Pappa was also quick to comment on the quality of the track as it became a close contender for inclusion on his Balance006 cd. Paul strips down the Tribal Mix into a simple progressive foundation, providing the key vocal line with a deep chugging bassline to generate a blend of emotions into one track. As it breaks the vocal is joined by two mellow synths before building with a breakbeat phrase to pump the bassline back - echoing the vocal to carry the track to its end. Paul showcases a track which can be used to open or close a set - its an overall disc that appeals to many with a massive vocal hook!'
