message board dj's havin a go?

why not have a special one off nite where some of the folks off here who dj get to play at promise? even if it was just in the always room it would still be good i think.

i know there are a few folks off here who are well good and play tunes that wouldn suit promise down to the ground. both big dave and cyberted are excellent dj's who i imagine would take the roof off at promise:D :D and i know there are others who could do just as well too.

would just be nice i think to have a nite where local djs get a chance to play...especially people off here too, even if i am bias with some of them bein my mates :p

    just a thought.

I think putting the locals on in the main room of promise is a bad idea... promise isn't a local club its a real club.

    However...

I think this board and the club hosts some very talented unbroken dj's like dave, lil lee, snarf, the entire tacxhno orgasm crew, etc. But most of them aren't at the stage where they could play promise (its a big step from playing your bedroom to working a 1200 person crowd).

I think what promise should do is host a ocmpetition at the warm up bars, promise have 2 warm up bars both playing funky house, funk and body and soul... eh?!?!? promise is a trance/techno club why do the bars play funk? I know most my promise mates who go to the warm up bars (nice and stereo) feel out of place there.... why not have a music/corwd policy that compliments the club instead of complimenting shindig?

I really love stereo and nice, but don't think they are very promise....

I think hosting a dj competition with some of the more suited dj's @ a warm up bar would be a possible sollution to this, we'd be giving locals a chance while at the same time giving us a warm up bar worthy of promise.

i know promise aint a local club but, i dont know of many people who make the trip up to promise every week, from around the country, like people do to other clubs such as (sorry for usin the comparison) crasher or GK for example. in my opinion promise is made up of aot of people from newcastle and from around other north eastern areas so if local people got to play, i can only see it as adding to the atmosphere...cos u support local talent dont u....if u see wot i mean

the always room would be perfect for sumit like this to happen, as im sure someone has sed that it deffo aint gettin the numbers it used to so changin it for up and coming dj's would, in my opinion benefit the room. They could simply send in tapes for mark and co to listen to and if they impress then they get a hour long set or whateva. this way u could also have a varied music policy in there too.
