MS XP Update Timers Auto Updates is all well and good, but these timers are daft. Ie..."Updates are ready to be installed, your pc must be rebooted" and then starts counting down from 5 mins. If somebody is mid document, or mid task, or whatever, and nips out of the office for whatever reason, could they lose their work? I don't want to turn off auto updates but this new timer idea is stupid I think...what was wrong with the old 'restart now or later' prompt!? Is there a solution to it?
ermm... never seen it b4... i wonder if it's a new feature of an update to make sure people DO reboot
No cos when it shuts down it gets stuck on a screen asking if you want to save before you exit so it does not reboot untill you return to the PC
Oh aye im sure the staff would love that I need to test this theroy Cole....think of the object's i'd have thrown at me if people lost work Does seem to be a new feature, it's when it's set to automatically install at a particular time, as opposed to saying "updates are ready, click here to install"
Re: Re: Re: Re: MS XP Update Timers OSX is based on unix not linux if i read it wrong then fair enough but reading it he said starts with L ends in X OSX ???
