    New Mixer Dilemma!

    Here's the score,

I've recently been saving up for a new mixer (Pioneer DJM600) however I've been thinking lately and need some help!

Firstly I was considering just getting the DJM 500 instead. (Can someone please tell me the difference between them!)

I already have a pioneer EFX 500 unit and so I want to know if there would be any point in buying a DJM 600/500. Are there any features which would make it worth buying a DJM if I already have an EFX 500?? And if not can anyone recommend some other alternative mixers!

    Cheers Daz:)

If you have an EFX just go for the 500 Daz, the 600 has a couple of extra effects to the 500 and a sampler. Stuff which your EFX alraedy has!

I prefer the Allen & Heath, try playing around on loads of different mixers before you buy

Do you need more than 2 channells ?

I have the EFX 500 + DJM 300. No meed for a mixer like an A&H for a bedroom

    Re: New Mixer Dilemma!

What sort of mixer have you got at the minute?
If it's a decent make, it's sometimes good to get a higher model made by the same company cos that's what you're used to.

I used to have a Vestax PCV 275 and got a DJM600 then an allen & heath Xone 62- didn't ever like any of them as much as the 275, so I went and got a vestax PMC-37 pro and absolutely love it- wasn't too keen on the EQs on either of the other mixers as you couldn't totall kill the sound.
Saying that, I've used a mates xone 32 and its miles better than the 62 and DJM600

The Mack makes a very good point, it's true!

It is nice to have a sweet mixer BUT is it really worth paying so much, the end result is pretty similar at the end of the day. Having said that, the Xone32 is immense and £425 isnt THAT much for such a good mixer. Wouln't be paying the likes of £600 mind. If I was going to get a DJM600 or a mixer in that sort of range I think i'd be looking at second hand kit.

I have a Vestax PCV275, totally love it, and have absolutley no intention of replacing it!

They are pretty cheap too, and good quality! I got mine from our own Deep Allie for a mere £200.
