Thought your lot were shit too! Terrible pitch, terrible weather. Scrappy goal due to a terrible wall (fucking Baros ). Liverpool may have some deprived areas, but Newcastle has the people who should be living in them ("Heed the ball's"). Shock horror, Liverpool has a better nightlife, a more diverse culture, more intergrated society, oh yeah, and the European Capital of Culture award.

Maybe this year could be the end of Newcastle's long wait for a trophy? Maybe not! Last trophy, Texaco Cup - 1971!

you say the nightlife is better down there yet every person ive met from Liverpool says its miles better up here!

I must say though we really need a new nightclub up here a big nightclub with regular class djs....a new home for promise maybe?

I say it's better because:

A) The pubs are massive
B) They all stay open until 2AM (Newcastle's licensing laws are terrible)
C) There are after clubs open until 7am on weekends, 4am through the week (Playrooms 4am, dunno about the others)
C) Not full of 'Heed the Balls'
D) No Ikon hoppers
E) Much more room for development

Not sure bout liverpool being better tho, simply down to the fact perms and shellsuits are abysmal and were never really in fasion. Only scousers and germans have that 'style' nowadays!

From a neutral perspective Newcastle is a far nicer place.

I haven't been to Liverpool regurarly for a long time but cream @ nation and creamfields itself was always full of Steven Gerrard lookalikes in shell suits stealing phones and generally threatening people.

I say Liverpool just like down here u will still get the trouble makers so u cant really say its safer down their.

Liverpool is a much bigger city than Newcastle, and thus attracts a far wider range of people, such as smackheads, alcoholics etc. A fair few of these seem to hang around the Anglican Cathedral/China Town. No one can deny that Liverpool has the potential to be far superior than Newcastle. The size of the buildings are huge, the number of buildings available for development are huge. This is only just starting to happen, but in 5 years it will be the city to be IMO.
