Outlook psts i have a email thats crashing a dll file when outlook trys to load it in the preview pane. its the top of the list of mails so when outlook opens it crashs straight away, no time to scroll down to another one etc... i can use outlook by creating a new pst file but i have mails and address in the old one i need. is there anyway of deleting this bad mail from the pst OR telling outlook not to auto preview?? Iv had this problem before but cant rememebr how i sussed i THANKS IN ADVANCE!
go to control panel, mail settings - remove the link to the .pst. Then go into Outlook and turn off auto preview. Then, back to control panel, mail settings and re add the folder file. edit, to turn off auto preview, just right click in the main email window and select 'auto preview'
that didnt work exactly because when i added the original inbox as a second pst (without autopreview) it still crashed as when i click on the 2nd inbox it auto trys to show you the top mail (the bad one) anyway. I got round it by right clicking on the inbox (without accessing it) and using the "Find" option, this brought the emails up in a list and allowed me to delete the mail in question. :chill:
