PC Games As my Video card kinds broke (Radeon 9700) ages ago I've never really played any games. However I've had a new fan stuck on it as that appeared to be the problem. Hopefully it was. I was just wondering what good games have been released in the last year & 1/2. I used to play Unreal Tournament online like it was some sort of religion but thats the only game i've played since about 2000. I thought i'd grown out of them but I've just got the urge to play a game through instead of just having a 10 minute blast around. I like FPS (First person Shooter) games the most, followed by racing games (Not F1 or rally. NFSU, GT are good). After that i dont mind a bit of Third person games although i'm best suited to these on the ps/ps2 so foget about this genre unless theres a really good game that applies. Also wouldnt mind a bit of strategy. Commando's and Warzone 2100 had me addicted for a while back in the day. So, what do you recommend?
Halflife 2 & gta San Andreas should easily waste a few months of your life. C&C Generals is pretty but still not as good as Red Alert 2. Battlefield 1942 should run well on your video card, the 'desert combat' modification is good fun too.
I have 1942 somewhere. Think the disks are probably mangled now though as i remember them being in the middle of a pile. What a waste of £30 or so if they are I was thinking offline games mainly. I just got 2mb broadband but so far it hasn't proven itself but i'm not sure if that's to do with my pc being cluttered and wanked up. I'm going to start playing a game when i get around to formatting my hdd. If online works without loads of lag then hurray but as it stands I'm only anticipating offline play. Half-Life 2 is online only is it not? San Andreas I have for the PS2 but although its a great concept (cars and guns) i get bored of the missons. I need a change in the environment after a while and GTA doesnt do it for me as a long term game. I'll check out C&C like. I just installed RCT3 the other day but havent had a crack on it yet. I loved building theme parks in the first one
Half life 2 is really an offline FPS, a very good one at that. You also get Counter Strike Source with HL2 which is an amazing online shooter. I'm told that EVE and the online Martix game are both very good if you don't mind paying monthly to play them.
Lazer Squad Turrican 2 Elite all these games ruled on the speccy and Citadel rocked on the Acorn Electron!
I as very strictly a UT person, none of this QIII or CS I was told Half life was online only.. I'll check it oooot.
IK+ - WICKED GAME!! 3 players at once on the same keyboard! GROUND BREAKING! there was a cheat to make it go REALLY fast - comedy!
My speccy favs :- Yie ar Kung Fu ( spelling ?) Spy Hunter Sacred Armour of Antireon Jet Set Willy theres more but cant think of em at the mo !! Amiga favs :- Speedball 2 Xenon 2 Megablast Shadow of the Beast Rick Dangerous more as well but cant think after a weekend on the pop lol !!
