Promise FC... Time to decide where/when to play...

OK.. with the hassle i've recently had getting a game going and picking up a full-price charge for my trouble, it's about time we had another debate on when is gonna be good for everyone to play.

Is Wednesday still good for you? Is another day better to play? Think you can find a better place to play?

I'm all for picking a Tuesday, but at the mo all i can confirm we'll get is a 5-a-side pitch at 6:30pm.. so suggestions for other venues, times, and prices would be most welcome.

Come on peeps.. lets get thsi sorted and start playing football again..

Theres something quite funny about the idea of clubbers playing football :)

    - People turning up with sicknotes explaining "harsh comedowns"
    - Half time lines
    - Trotting and wheezing around with cigarette ruined lungs
    - Hugging the referee while "loved up" on an unfavourable decision.

    Full time whistle posse blow.

    :D

4-Lane-Ends is out of the question from the looks of things.. with the students returning and all the sports societies starting again the pitch is booked up.

Block booking is a possibility with Westgate, but the earliest game is around 8:30pm.

Come on .. any more ideas?

play in the park in shieldfield... it's better than playing on an artificial surface cos you dont fuck your legs, it's free, accessible etc etc.. most folks live in/around heaton so it's close?
    not rocket science folks

Bit of a flaw in your logic there is.. THERE ARE NO FLODLIGHTS!
Only in the summer can you get away with playing evenings in the sunshine.. the rest of the time it's played at night under floodlights to provide the illumination. Not to mention people want a nice hot shower after the game to..
    a) clean up ready for a pint in the bar... and
    b) warm up, cos some nights you'll be bloody freezing!

So.. think about it. If you can find a place to play in the evenings which is reasonably priced and get everyone involved.. and be prepared to risk your own money if the place charges for cancellations, then I'll be impressed.

Well, from the response here it looks like u lot cant come up with anything better. Quite frankly I'm giving this one more go before calling it quits altogether.

I still think the best solution is playing at Westgate.
Tuesday it's a 5-a-side maximum.. and we'll be lucky to get anything better. Wednesday is better with a 7-a-side available.

How does 8:30pm sound? Game of football, get freshened up.. grab a swift one at the bar then head into town for the rest of the drinks :)
