Radiohead - In Rainbows (new album)

On first listen im really happy with it! For me they havent done a bad album, Hail To The Theif did let me down a little bit but this is much better. Stand out track so far for me is ''Weird Fishes/Arpeggi'' - awesome!! With most of their albums this will also take a few listens to get into but thats Radiohead. If you loved the prog influence on ''Ok Computer'' this revisits it.

I just hope i can get a ticket for when they start promoting the cd release! :(

The important question Dan, is how much did you pay?

I paid £2. But ive got every album on cd and as soon as they release it properly ill be getting a copy. Theres a difference between having a cd with an inlet to look at than having files on your hard disk, imo.

I really like radiohead but on first listen this sounds very similar to the last few albums. I liked all of them but was hoping for something different as they'd talked about making albums in sets of 3 and changing their style each time...

I'll stick it on my ipod and listen to it a few more times before i write it off though.

Had one listen yesterday, sounded good in my opinion. First two songs stood out instantly.

    Absolutely love it.

I thought it might sound like The Eraser Part 2 but it doesn't at all.

It's nothing like Kid A/Amnesiac and there's a very subtle tonal shift from Hail to the Thief. There are even echos of Pablo Honey at some points musically and lyrically.

Loads of standout tracks, love "Faust", "Reckoner" and "Jigsaw falling into Place".

They've proved yet again that they're the greatest band in the world without question.

Had a few listens now and i think its their greatest work since Ok computer. His voice sounds better than ever and the sheer scale and depth of the the sound they create is mindblowing. Some of the soundscapes Johnny Greenwood creates are typically brilliant. I was truly hypnotised by all of it. Immense :cool2:

I don't like random hap hazard dodgy drumming like that is on this song.

    It has no melody either.

    Reckoner is good.
