aye easy m8 BUT if its got an operating system on it that needs to boot up , chances are it mite not on the other pc , depending on processor / motherboard etc !!

if its just a spare storage h/d then just take it out n put it in the other pc as a slave to the master hard drive !!!

Aye, it'll cause probs if you plug it into another PC cos the OS will have set itself up around the chipset and resources of the motherboard.
If your just taking it away for safe keeping just try not to touch any exposed PCB or components else you could zap it. Stick it in an anti-ESD bag if you can.

Just to add if mart's gonna be doing this on a regular basis it will be a reet fook on to keep screwing it in n oot the pc every weekend , it mite be worth him buying a removable hard drive rack to keep it in , comes with a lock n key , u just put the hard drive in the draw bit n slide it in n lock , then when u want to take it away just unlock n take the draw out !!

    £5 - £15 tops

I've had hard drives lying all over the place for 10 year (really should tidy up) and I've never managed to damage one yet.
Then again I tend to give the overly cautious, official line when giving advice to others. I wouldn't wanna be the cause of someone losing valuable data.

Stick it in a carrier bag!! :)
