    ***DUE TO A FEW TECH DIFFICULTIES THE DJ COMP WILL NOW START NEXT WEEK***

    COMPETITORS FOR THIS WEEK:

    A - FLETCH

    RICHARD GIBSON

    NICK RODGER

    RYAN TOAL

    THIS FRIDAY AT THE OTHER ROOMS FROM 8PM - MIDNIGHT
    FREE ENTRY: ALL WELCOME

    1)IN TRUE GONG SHOW STYLE, IF YOU’RE NOT UP TO SCRATCH ON THE DECKS YOU CAN BE EJECTED AT ANY TIME.

    2)DJS OF ALL MUSICAL DENOMINATIONS ARE ENCOURAGED AND WELCOME TO APPLY FOR A PLACE IN THE HEATS. WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE ALL OF LAST YEARS COMPETITORS RETURN AND MORE...

    3) AFTER TWO HOURS OF HEATS, TWO FINALISTS WILL BE TESTED TO THE FULL BY SPENDING AN HOUR EACH GOING BACK TO BACK WITH A WAX:ON RESIDENT.

    4)AS WELL AS TUNE SELECTION, CROWD INTERACTION, TECHNICAL ABILITY, ORIGINALITY AND SEX APPEAL… COMPETITORS WILL ALSO BE JUDGED ON CROWD ATTRACTION… .THE MORE MATES IN YOUR SUPPORT CREW THE BETTER YOUR CHANCES

    IM NOT FOR ONCE TRYING TO BE NEGATIVE WITH REGARDS TO THIS, BUT ALL BATTLE OF THE DJ'S/BANDS COMPETITIONS ARE TOTAL SCAMS AND ARE ONLY IN PLACE SO THAT PUNTERS COME THROUGH THE DOOR ON NIGHTS WHERE THERE IS LITTLE BUSINESS OR NO BIG NAMES. THE WINNER HAS ALREADY BEEN DECIDED AND THE HEATS ARE JUST MONEY MAKERS.

    True of the consett competitions anyway :lol:

    The last one I entered, I was the only person in my heat to get people actually dancing and enjoying themselves, and I got a round of applause when I came off.

    The person who beat me in my heat (and won the overall competition) cleared the place out by playing tiesto's 11 minute version of silence in his 45 minute slot...

    Ian Burns (Resistance) was down to play the heat after mine, and after seeing what happened with the first heat he decided not to turn up for his :laugh:

    anyway this kid won a spot at trades as well as a pair of 1210's, lets just say that he had to be removed from the stand mid-set because the punters were walking out complaining :lol:

    I'd be bitter if it wasn't for the fact that everyone watching agreed he shouldn't have won the heat, and also the fact I'm getting regular work whereas he's never got a job DJing anywhere since ;)

    I doubt this one will be a fix though, just wish I had the technical ability and musical depth to enter :(
