When and how did you all get into trance/prog house??

I used to be an indie boy, scourin the country in search of guitars, and trampy clothes!!:D but then in summer 1996 started gettin more into orbital and prodigy, then before I knew it, got rid of the greasy curtain, and replaced with short messy hair!! and then got really into trance when I bought the album Platinum, mixed by John Kelly & Scott Bondy!! Never looked back since!! :D I think PVD and Greece 2000 did it for me back then!! :D :p

If I could cite three people who made me appreciate the harder side of life they'd be Sasha, Nick Warren and Tony De Vit, god rest his soul. All pioneers in their own special way...

...it was Jose Padilla though who got me into it all in the first place. Ask your dad

I used to be into allsorts, mainly hip hop, indie and a bit of drum & bass. Went to shindig a few times, and ended up buying a pair of decks, started buying some house music and mixing that(you shouls see the state of some the vinyl that i first bought very embarrasing). Then met some new mates who were into house/trance and started going out with them.

I loved Cypress & House of Pain.......!!!!

My main love has always been "electronic music"..... In the 80's you could not buy these compilations you have today... and the only electronic stuff u could buy was the likes of Cappella and Culture Beat (The people behind these groups went on to rule euro house & trance, truly great producers!!). So baby Talon was left with NO SOURCE OF TECHNO!!! I hate Happy Hardcore but loved Italian techno/industrial techno... (All electronic music was called techno early on, it still is in USA) So to feed my addiction I used to record tape after tape of music from computer games on my Spectrum and later my Amiga and listen to these on my super dupa "Walkman" wow I was posh to have one of those.

The music in the clubs got harder and harder....I loved REAL HARD HOUSE (Not that UK HARD HOUSE played by ScummyDee & Scalliwell!!!) the stuff played by Norman Jaye, Jezza Healy & co. The likes of Jules & Tall Paul played harder and harder........ Then Mr Oakenfold started playing a strange type of music called "Trance".............

ps. If anyone wants a copy of Turrican & Outlook theme tapes feel free to ask!!!

Me 2... I was well into my hip hop (Wu-Tang, Busta Rhymes, Cypress Hill, Funkdoobiest, House of Pain etc.) but I started listening to a little bit of jungle and drum & bass.

I never liked happy hardcore or any of that wank but I started getting into house. older julesy, seb stuff.

I started getting into trance and a bit of hard house but nothing too big and eventually i got sum decks! I was buying house, trance and hard house. I eventuall stopped buying house and focused on trance and hard house then i stopped buying hard house because it became a bit boring and no descent stuff was coming out anymore!

i have always loved trance but now i love it more than ever! esp a nice bit of hard trance! :D

Oh... and Crasher has helped! :p
