    wireless networks again...

Mate of mine lives in a flat, there is a wireless network installed.

All works, except on one pc!

IT shows as connected, but cannot get on the net?

    Suggestions?

Not really up on wireless....but why would it show as connected if the password is wrong? Apparently there is no prompt for a password.

They say there isnt a firewall either.

    I guess i better take a look.

Blur.......thanks for that invaluable advice

Is WEP/WPC encryption on ? If so you need to make sure the client pc has its settings to connect to this with the same key and settings. Otherwise you can see the access point and router but it wont actually connect you.
