It's going to happen once the XenForo software comes out of beta I think, it may be sooner if people want it. I just want to make sure that there are no bugs or problems with it before I move everything over.

New addition to the test site - Event calendar (a la facebook).

There's now an "Events" tab on the new board - anyone clicking it gets a list of upcoming events.

    http://test.nucastle.co.uk/events/

Anyone posting an event in the events forum has to enter location and dates like a facebook event - it then generates an event on the board calendar, so everyone can see what is happening and when at one click.

Give it a go and let me know what you think ;)

We've got an addon on the current board which can detect what kind of browser is used and will display the appropriate style. iPhones (the 3g ones) show up as one kind of browser, iPhone 4s show up as another. I'll do some digging into this and see if I can correct it.

This is how it looks now.

1st pic - This weeks events show up at the top of the events section....

2nd pic - And there's a dedicated tab for events, listing this week, this month, and next few months etc.

I can also get it working facebook-style, where you can click "attending/not attending" via the board.

    That looks wicked that conway.

The 'going out' section is the powerhouse that keeps this board going i reckon, so anything that brings more visibility and interaction to that is a good thing in my opinion.

Anything that leverages facebook as much as possible (and to a lesser extent, twitter) can only be a good thing.

.... Can you publish subscribed twitter feeds on this site in any way. Might be good to aggregate feeds for dj's and the like here?

At the moment no, but neither can our current system.

The new system allows people to sign up via twitter as well as facebook, we can still have tweets generated for any new threads, and I can set up a "share via twitter/reddit/delicio.us etc". Sharing via facebook is built in from the ground up on the new software.

If someone was to create and publish a mod allowing twitter aggregation (or if I could get one done myself) it would get added

Looks cool like. Gonna take a bit of getting used to tho, especially I generally only view the boards on my phone now.

XenBiz made the theme that the board is using by default. I've just adapted it and tweaked it slightly. If you go down to the bottom-left corner and click on where it says "XenBiz", you can change the theme that you're using.

The last board used custom themes as well - Vivid Stripes was coded and released for free (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=204167) and MoS and I agreed on using it. We just modded it a bit :)

There are more themes we can install on the board here: http://xenforo.com/community/forums/styles/ . The majority are free but some you have to pay for. If anyone sees one they like more than this let me know and I'll install it.
