Yeah but in todays game footballers have very little loyalty and think about themselves a whole lot more than they think of the fans that watch them or the club that employs them.
Possibly the thickest comment i have ever read on this board. His finishing is the ONLY part of his game that lets him down, everything else is superb. As Ian pointed out, he runs tirelessly. This involves chasing lost causes and pressing the opposition, when we dont have the ball. His movement off the ball is first-class. His ability to play his game to suit his strike partner is fantastic. His first touch nearly always goes into the right place to give him time. His pace is sensational, as is his balance. His close contol is very good, using both feet. He carries the ball many many times in a game, dragging it wide, buying time, and bringing the likes of Dyer, Solano, Robert and Speed more into the game as an attacking threat. He also picks out a lot of good balls when he has driven into the box. Defenders are scared of him. Any Premiership defender will tell you they dont enjoy having to play him. He stretches defences, makes a lot more room for other Newcastle players. Yes he is a prick. But that doesnt stop him being a damm fine player. We are quite CLEARLY a weaker team without him. Hes never ever going to score 25/30 a season. He is not a striker really, more of a strike-partner. But yes he should score a few more, i would like to see 15 a season from him. The last time i was annoyed about a stupid comment like this was when some idiot decided Chris Sutton was "crap". Where do people come up with these assessments? If you are gonna talk about something on this board, make sure its something you actually have some knowledge about. Football is all about opinions, but try basing them on a little bit of knowledge please.
