"one offs" are the future the way I see it the promoters put a bit more effort in if they dont run as often.
Obviously just my opinion but theres only so much you can do in bars / clubs with 2 x 1210s , flashing lights and people who play records.

If 24 hr drinking comes to Newcastle then expect a host of cloned similar style nights all charging for you to get into A PUB!

I thought el dee did a great job of educating the try hards that were swaffing around the bar in revolution

Holding down a full time, juggling family and running a regular is near impossible to do. The problem is that unless people have put their money in no one ever will put as much effort in as the person running the night

you ever noticed the people who constantly complain about you putting local / new faces on and then when you do no one comes because all along they wanted "big names"

theres only one phrase to live by "you can never please everyone all of the time"

lack of venues will always be a problem in toon until (a) someone finds a unique way of serving beer without the backing of the breweries, (b) ultimate leisure goes out of business or (c) the whole council gets sacked

PREFAB MARQUEES in ya back garden is the future

Newcastle lacks lots of really dark n dingy dives - they have always been my favourite places to put nights on...

If anyone's been to Eddies No. 8 in Brum they'll know what I'm on about :)

dance music should be about the music and do you want to dance to it? it aint about how plush or cosmetically appealing a venue is. VIBRATION at Xmas was fan flippin fantastic atmosphere and the power cut just heightened our anticipation of when the music kicked back in.
I been to a lot plusher venues recently and not had such a good time as in the fidla at christmas.

Clothes and hairstyles (eg mullets) do not make an atmosphere
the attitudes of the people and the music does....and comedy JON saying to james 909 ...so you a bloody electricain now (as well as a dj) after the power cut out.

That's your opinion, I have mine - I prefer running events in small dingy dives, creates a better atmosphere. I'm more happy and bouncy in confined dark spaces :D
