Apart from actual raves? I disagree with that comment completely, it's an entirely different crowd of people with a completely different mindset to any rave. I'd hardly call the people that were knocking into me all night "free spiritied".
When the Detox's are out in the stix they are very much like raves. i never said the people were free spirited, I said the whole thing feels free spirited - getting a bus to party in the middle of nowhere. Sounds like a rave to me.
richard did not tell him to!!!! powerhouse was one of 3 suggestions / options tall trees which wanted to take it would have been by far the best option but imho there wasnt enough time to do a proper promotion for that venue
Bollocks, you have no idea on how to thank people for suggesting stuff and have no idea of how to let other people take credit for anything. You just take all the credit for yourself.
there's no room for crediting other people when youre single handedly saving dance music. melt youre awesome.
so (a) I never had a firm commitment from Craig thru at sunderland on his venue and (b) I never had a firm commitment from Jimmy at tall trees on that venue "have you thought of the power house" is hardly someone telling me which venue to use obviously without wanting to take all of the credit (seeing as for this event I did 99% of the flyering and postering with some additional help in the last week and half from baxter, haidee, janet and fids) I must have missed the fact that some imaginary person in the ether of newcastle clubland just happened to carry greenys sound system up 3 levels of the Power house , decored all of the venue, booked and paid for all the djs, arranged all of their hotels and flights , navigated the minefields of their agents , locked horns with crooks trying to crew us over in boro and rival mullet haired rubbish house nights trying to sabotage our promotion and thats juts for starters but hey I aint bitter why would I be: 600 plus people in & all the djs turned up then again maybe i shouldnt have bothered , saved myself some wonga and went to see oakey at the arena
I always say thank you some people have short memories this is why me and static are riding off into the sunset
To be fair melt, i have no beef with you (lol).....your a bloke on a mission sometimes and do go into overdrive.
the internet is rubbish which is why i am going to ask m.o.s to delete my account at the end of this week the rival mullet night i talk of is outside newcastle lets just say they must be really confident of their own nights quality to have to try and bad mouth us to venueowners I'll give you a clue, they were running on the same night as us LULU: I need to be in overdrive, if I wasnt nowt would happen cos most people just want to get wrecked
