I dont think your opinion would be much different - at Wax On he was exactly what i was expecting, really good but nothing special like people make out.

i recon luciano is class me like

when ever i have seen him he has been awesome. i listned to the cd through a few times and there is a few mixes that are more noticable than others which is abit naff on a cd but when u seen him live it doesnt really bother me.....

i think he is more of a hands on dj, he fucks about loads, gets really into it and works the crowd by gettin the most out of the effects and every part of each tune...for example takin the bass out then hammering it back in or smahin in hi-hats from the next tune

i personally prefere that from a dj and can put up with a few shady mixes from someone like him who is playing mostly vinyl
it makes a change to laptop djs pressing a few buttons and everying being too perfect all the time

Saw him with Magda at Technique a couple of years ago and it was one of the best nights Ive ever had every track was amazing.

Saw him twice at DC10 last year and thought he was a bit flat, shame like but I wont write him off...

That Sety - Mogane track is mint :)

I was at that night at Technique, he was much better when he was mainly techno, the house influences have taken the sting out of his sets a bit imo.

I like a lot of the stuff he plays but he doesn't get to that stage in his sets which he use to 2005 2006 where he'd take it up a level and smash a club to bits, i.e. Technique.

Still a mint DJ but I think he was better a few years ago.

yeah but u are still mixing the tunes on tractor and serato as if u were mixing a normal record or cd without a laptop so can still easily fuck up.....

compared to when everything i done on ableton or whatever and its totally perfect

    :)

I love it how mixing on vinyl now means you are doing something different

Been doing a bit on Ableton for a while now, and I've once or twice found myself thinking of ways to make it sound more like mixing vinyl or CD......which is just stupid innit??

Remember getting the ellen alien fabric through off the postie months back, and scrambling to get it in my CD deck when I read it was recorded on ACTUAL DECKS....

How the (turn) tables have turned...

Enjoyed the Luciano mix, some cracking tracks, but I've heard much better...

Just meant that when I saw that the sleeve notes read "mixes on two SL1200'S" or whatever, I couldn't wait to listen to it, as the majority of Mix CD's these days sound a bit pre-programmed....
