Insulting other people ?

This is probably the most friendly message board I visit. Every1 seems pleasant and it will be nice to come and visit top people when we get round to visiting 1 day.

Keep it that way, cos as soon as it looses that niceness you will never get it back, and as much as a good argument and slagging session can be funny, once it happens once it means it will happen again. And a constructive discussion can be 10x more beneficial in the long run if thats how the site wants to be kept by the owners.

I'll say it once more........... it's only a message board. People come on here to chat, have some banter and take the piss. The same as they do in real life in fact. I can't see what the problem is with that?!

It is the responsibility of the moderator on each board to control the users. If a post is uncalled fore then they should remove it and if it continues then they should take and educated view of past posts and general behaviour then give a warning, if action is called for a recommendation should be made to the admin of the board to remove a user. If the problem is that the moderator is not on enough to keep on top of things then more then one moderator should be appointed so that one can cover the other to keep everything under control!!! This is the way that I administrate my boards and it works!!!

That may be fine and well on your board, but we don't want to seem like nazi's

People have a right to speak their mind, I'm pretty sure mark isn't on about petty insults - its when people repeatadly belittle, insult, annoy people - we can modify their posts till the cows come home - but at the end of the day its far easier to give them a warning then ban them.

personally i dont think theres any problems on this bored...but there will be soon because people are creating em out of nothin! with the exception of extreme cases, leave things be!

Believe me m8 the board makes for a happier place when u balance out moderating, warring messages and banning infect it making it less harsh (or less nazish i you prefer)!!! U as the moderator do have to have some responsibility (this is not a dig at you mate and Im all up for free speech as long as it doesnt belittle people as u said who dont deserve it)

and as for post moderating, what is the point in having a moderator on board if he/she doent moderate!!! You may as well just have admins on the board in that case, but moderators do have a purpose!!!

i think i ve deleted about 15 posts, i would rather people speak their minds, and let them expres their opinions... more often than not it creates interestin discussions...

and most of the posts i deleted were by damocles n karl!!

but i also try n keep things interestin in my forums...

IMO no one has been too out of order to require words bein deleted, not in Music or Humour forum, but if i think anything is distasteful in either forum, i will delete it!

I see your point, and i dont have any control over the main forum in which most the stuff gets posted, if i did, i dont know whether i d go deletin stuff or not... It doesnt really bother me what is written there... i look after my forums...

I disagree - I think that would be percieved by most as abusing my power:

for example lets say technofish calls me a name (like that would ever happen ) and I then delete what he says... A lot of people would percieve this as an over-reaction we all are after all adults here....

Where as if he insulted my race or something on that level - the moderators would most definatly edit his post and give him a formal warning.

The majority of the messageboard members are mature and sensible enough to respond to suggestions rather than us just enforcing rules upon them.

We pay to get into Promise, they get paid for playing in Promise, surely they have to expect that not everyone is going to like them. They seem happy enough to take the compliments so they should be able to handle the criticism too. They are professional people after all.

If we pretended that everything was fine then how would anyone realistically gauge what exactly the punters like/dislike?

I agree with Mark. I think most of the criticism is constructive, or at least specific, but Ithink there is too much of it on this board

Most people aren't shy about saying what a great night they had either tho

Thats so true bud, no1 is as nice as they used to be, they dont speak nice & the comments they make arent nice & criticism is BEYOND readable sumtimes, its hurts peoples feelings, people who are fellow clubbers , people who r tryin 2 enjoy life,have their own personal intrests, fun things that make em happy, and these people here go to PROMISE (alot in common wiv eachova) SO WHY THE FUCK ARE PEOPLE SLAGGIN OVAS RIGHT OFF, CALLIN EM BEING FULL ON EEEEEEEVVIIILL AND MOST OV ALL REALLY HURTING PEOPLES FEELING!!!???? ITS GOIN TOO FAR ON THIS BOARD!!!(not mensioning ne particular names)

im off to PASSION'S Message board, however i will read n comment sumtimes but if i get sum shit off sum1, ill wont join in this time, ill do it the proper way!!!
