Its not already in action The mixes are posted in the section but a) they arent specifically done for a purpose b) the content isnt delivered directly to the user c) there is no structure to the listing of methods d) it would probably mean that people ended up listening to stuff they wouldnt usually listen to e) a radio station relies on people being in a set place at s set time every week/month...this doesnt really happen that much. so there fancy meeting up for a fight? edit: what the fuck am i doing arguing about something i dont care about when i have a 50 page report to hand in on thursday
scrap on! and ai whatever, some of your points may be valid - however i think the fact that its live may add a new appeal to it all. since its part of the small community that is the nucastle boards. but judging the lack of crack on these boards now i can imagine it'll fall on its arse, however if people show some acutal interest in this it might work. however to a board that the majority or users is over 30 - well, we'll see Re:
either way, " Location: The Nucastle Boards - The Supposed Home Of Witty Banter" lets hope thats true
aye it was just an idea to liven up the board, theres a load of dj's on here with a load of different styles of music, probably having a mix, posting on the board, so why not combine the two and let us here what your all about!!i mean i'm happy to listen to the majority of styles like, would be decent to have a change on here instead of just logging on and posting, if there was some decent music on aswell it would create a bit of a talking point IMO!just a thought..
I've got a server capable of hosting both a shoutcast stream and podcasts, but up until now I haven't really mucked about with it. I've got 100mbit bandwidth and 3.2tb of allowance per month, so it can handle a fair few listeners If people really want to give it a go on here I'd be up for opening it up and letting them stream - if anyone has any ideas as to where to go with it... a board podcast would be a neat idea - an hourly mix from someone on the board each week - we used to have a monthly guest mix on here (I still have the PGR and Scott Bradford ones). It's easy done (I've got the hang of writing xml scripts for it now).
