if they were a peadophile and had fucked about with children then YES they do deserve it.

but its a tricky one - cos unless u are 100% sure (are u ever?) then mistakes could be made, like in this case. then it becomes wrong.

Locking them up in prison is no punishment, its like a holiday camp in prison these days. I can understand how people who know of a paedophile living in there town would want to get them out, and if they have been affected by a paedophile in there familys wanting to cause them serious harm which may lead to death.

A lot of peadophiles recieve treatment - I am not quite sure if it is classes as a mental illness or a sexual disorder (think that's the American term). So not all are put in prison, in many cases they can be rehabilitated and can re-join society without re-offending. This is not always the case, of course...

For more serious offenders if they are put in prison then it achieves the goal of them not being able to molest any more children.

Thankfully, we are a civilised society and MOST of us understand that you cannot go around beating people to death whatever you believe that person to be guilty of. If you do, you go to jail. And quite rightly so.

And as for the magic set comment...I am deeply hurt.

Yes but if a paedophile messed about with one of my kids i would honestly seriously hurt them maybes kill them and i wouldnt blame anyone else for doing the same. That was what i meant when i said i thought it was okay.

Quick search on Google - around 15-43% of peadophiles go on to re-offend. That's quite a high percentage but what about the other half that are, with careful treatment, rehabilitated?

Another point to take into consideration is that around 93% of peadophiles under some sort of supervision program also do not re-offend during this period. There are many ways to treat this.

Don't think I'm "soft" on this issue. I'm not. However ignorance really pissed me off. And most of the goons on here saying "kill them" or "lock them up and throw away the key" have little clue what they are talking about.

I think people should get all the facts before they make ignorant sweeping statements about things which, in this case, has cost an innocent man his life.

deserve??? im not sure. To punish someone for killing a paedophile who has messed about with one of his children is a but weird when you can fully understand the reasons behind it. However the law is the law and if u murder someone u are punished.
