I have WPA on the router but there doesnt seem to be an option to use it on the card! U can use it though, just need to find out how.
Is it windows thats reporting 54mbs? As in the lil windows icon in taskbar? Look in ur wireless utility - it shud show 108....windows wont for sum reason, also u may need to enable "turbo" mode etc....cos altho the wireless cards say 108, they are really just 54....but u can "turbo" em to go double speed.
What are the chances of gettign a MAC address when its like 1000000000 to 1 to guess it... And why normal people encrypt for as if you have sensitive data.. i mena someone might steal your MPĀ£ that your trnasfering You can lock it down without using heavy encrytion which slows your bandwidth down quiet a bit
get a copy of airsnort running under linux and you can snatch them out of thin air, even if they are using WEP...
Well, I think for my purposes my current config will surfice. As for using AirSnort...that's as good a reason as any to install a Linux parition on my Laptop
Oh dear what if someone is sad enought to sit within a 100meter of you house to sniff out your MAC adresses, anyway if anyone logs onto my network i can see them so i know when anyone who is not there logs on....
GEEK! That's what I meant anyway, ur just being geekantic (stronger, more geek orientated version of pedantic ) You can't outgeek me
