I agree, maybe people who are too shy(maybe not the right word) or are not able to get help for the situation that is making them want to harm themselves or even kill themselves.
Its not something I understand much but some people do get down easily but they should never be ashamed or afraid to ask someone for advice in my opinion.

Was it one off because of a certain situation or something you did for months mate or do you not want to talk about it

people also enjoy the pain. in a mixed up head where they're not sure of their emotions, what is up and what is down, whether they're happy, sad or angry - pain is an undiltued raw emotion... a break from the normal. they know they're still alive and not dead inside.

Didn't do it that often. Done it more than once tho. I was 15/16. Certain situations at school caused it I reckon.

It scares me when I look back on it tho bcos I've got so many good things in my life right now and I almost never got to experience them.

Don't worry about it. Its cool. :)

It just sorta made me feel better. I was going to commit suicide but once I tried I found that I felt better without doing too much damage to myself. Really hard to explain why 7/8 years later tho.

It seems like people self harm because of a situation & by cutting themselves they feel that pain instead of the orginal pain of a certain situation.

some do but a lot don't enjoy the pain... that was one of the things that was raised on tv... doctors/nurses performing small op's/putting in stitches with no anasthetic cos they thought the patient would like the pain.

shocking that medical professionals are not briefed/taught more about the situation. :(

Read an article about this in the Idependent today and it was truly shocking think it said 1 in 10 have self harmed by the time they are 18  There was a two week diary of someone who self harmed and it seemed to me like she did it to distract from the unhappiness and depression that she was feeling.

    Not nice

Fact is we live in a society where a lot of people come out with words like " their crazy if they do that...only idiots do that" and all the other phrases that they normally come out with along them lines...instead of coming out with shit like that they should take a step back and realise that people have problems...and some people cant deal with the problems they have and havnt got anyone that they can turn to to help with the problems...other people have..emotions and feelings can be very strong sometimes, even sometimes that strong that the person cannot express them or show them..all this can (in some people) lead to self harm..could be nasty home life..not enough attention...etc etc...these people are NOT FREAKS nor should they be treated as anything else than normal members of the public..a lot of the time all they may need is someone to be there for them or someone to share their thought etc with..
Bottom line is...yeah it is a bit different to how some people would handle things and some would say its not normal...what is normal anyway...it is a word that cant be proven (in my eyes)...
This is something that happens in society today and something that can be treated or the person can be helped...at the end of the day were all here for the same thing and if we help and respect each other the world will be a better place... :)

(Dont know if that'll make sense like...it was just flowing out)

Its a reply to the post anyway...*rant rant rant* lol!! ;)
