It makes me cringe when we (or rather, the US) tell other countries that they may not have nuclear weapons on the basis that they might use them whilst we (they) do.

How much better if we did away with ours, THEN came down like a ton of bricks on countries that do? We have plenty enough conventional weaponry to deal with this sort of threat, and we would at least be justified in calling for reduction of nuclear arms if we had none.

I have no desire to see the iranians with nuclear weapons, any more than I do any other country. But they have a right to nuclear power, and if there is good evidence that they are developing nuclear weapons then lets see it before we decide.

Once again, this is rank hypocrisy of US foreign policy that continues to inflame the sentiments of the world. If it annoys me, fuck knows what it does to an Islamic extremist.

Ahmadinejad: Wipe Israel off map

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has openly called for Israel to be wiped off the map.

"The establishment of the Zionist regime was a move by the world oppressor against the Islamic world," the president told a conference in Tehran on Wednesday, entitled The World without Zionism.

"The skirmishes in the occupied land are part of a war of destiny. The outcome of hundreds of years of war will be defined in Palestinian land," he said.

"As the Imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map," said Ahmadinejad, referring to Iran's revolutionary leader Ayat Allah Khomeini.

His comments were the first time in years that such a high-ranking Iranian official has called for Israel's eradication, even though such slogans are still regularly used at government
rallies.

you can believe many things about our decision to invade. ill never know the exact truth so i cant comment fully. i can say that the people of iraq once stablised will have a life without the agression hussain imposed on them.

my view on the iraq war is this. hussain was a dictator who commited genocide on the kurds and killed his own people, he needed irradicating. just like milosovic. we went to war to remove him but also show the middle east that the US runs the show now. and i do believe oil and contracts for the rebuild were the deciding factor in the case for war.
