Jim certainly knows the right people and can motivate them to get shit sorted. He's been to hell and back on many occasions to push things forward for this city's music community. A real station for the city's youth is something I'd certainly be proud to be a part of.

A station that was for all sections of youth not just the people who go to Promise & Shindig. But music for the people who sit on hippies grass or the Asians who go to the many Bhranga nights Newcastle has even a rave show for the many rave fans living in the North East. I would like a radio station that was a broad but specialist church

a one month rsl costs £4000 and you can only get one once in every six months.

nsrfm is probably the best bet when its on air. the likes of scott bradford, steve butler, richard tulip, alan thompson, shan etc have all done guest mixes in the past. problem is they can't turn their transmitter up high enough so you can only get it in the city centre. the website always crashes too!

The drum n bass pirate stations  some are completely gash though, with 16 year olds trying to MC, others are quality (even if the sound quality aint up to scratch:))

i heard a while back that some charvas tried to start a pirate station somewhere in newcastle. they hooked there equipment up to a electric generator and put speakers on street lights! apparently caused a massive power cut in the area and landed them a jail term-serves them right for trying to make people listen to soldier of fortune and scooter!

If enough people got involved couldnt we get a grant from the arts council, then raise the rest from sponsorship with local businesses????
