So its a case of either Moderating it.....only approved threads are shown...

    or...

I've learned of a lot of events by just reading through this bit on the site - I thought it was such a good idea that I extended it to the forum on my site (when I finally do launch it).

It would be a shame to close it, especially when the majority of events posted up on here are local events by promise members, none of which approach the scale of a night at foundation.

The last thing I want to see is the board going the same way as the crasherboard where they delete every post related to another event or club night, no matter how big or small that event is (TheSpence's banning a few weeks ago comes to mind as a good example).

Make Jambon the mod. That should cut down the spam :D

    Re: And again...

I totally understand it must annoy you and the rest of the promise crew, as it would me if i had such night but i think if jambon is mod he will delete the banned stuff (and most of the unbanned stuff as well!) You could have a sticky thread saying what is allowed, for example midweek events at the union, world HQ etc, and what isnt shindig sugarshack etc. You could also say only people who reguarly come on here are allowed to use it- to arrange meetups, see who else is going etc...

if you got rid of it then threads would probably start appearing in mission control.. or advertising might go 'underground' - you might get people coming on and pm'in everyone with their nights which would be even worse as you wouldnt be able to see what was being advertised...

havin said that i can see how it must piss you and mark off sometimes, people do take the piss...

or another idea perhaps you could invent some sort of system where they pay you to advertise????

Exactly. Its very useful to board members to arrange stuff etc. Its one of the first forums I look at. As long as people know what they can and cannot post then it should stay. :)

    ..

Keep it. Im sure it doesnt cost a great deal of money, as it probabky the least used forum.

It is the main reason why I check this board.

As I said just see it as your way of putting something back into the local clubbing scene. As mentioned, if you feel the nights are in direct competition or the promoter is taking the piss then delete them, or put a set of rules up.

No real justification in just losing the forum all together.

    Peace.

These quotes have a subtext which is quite amusing.
