    I say whack Jambon in charge this time, he just has to be a little more professional about it

    No deleting threads because he thinks the nights are shit, delete threads that are in direct competition with Promise, and anything the 'higher bodies' disagree with, i.e Shindig, keep the rest.

    I find this section rather useful :)

    Any threads that are seen to be direct competition to promise/quality are deleted anyway.

    Its not just ppl posting about nights competing with promise/quality tho...its people simply using the board (promises money) to advertise and nothing else.....I dont think that goes down too well either....

    I think the idea of that forum was to give summit back to the ppl that USE the message board...so we know what else is on....not for ppl to come on n get free advertising...

    And its doing that for the most part. U'll just have to look at people's post history or something to see if they are active members of the board. Bring Jambon back. There's no reason to delete the whole forum when the problem can be solved by moderation. This is a very useful forum. :)

    any posts deemed to be direct competition or piss takes are deleted.

    it is moderated - the problem is some people still take the piss and it cannot be moderated by someone 24/7 - so theres always the chance of some slipping thru...

    UNLESS....

    we moderate the forum in the way that each post needs to be accepted before it is shown.....

    this could be the answer - that way it stops ANYTHING that isnt wanted here being shown whilst still letting every1 know about events...

    cinstead of removing it completely i personally think that is the best solution - a sort of compromise.

    Ok. So moderate it then.

    Recently, I'm sure the number of people only using this board to advertise is a single-figured one, so surely a little bit of moderation should sort that out?

    good idea BUT how long will it take to read every single post on the board that people want to put on... what if theres no mods on at the time- how long will it take for someone posts to go up...or do you just mean thread TITLES?:)

    Wud say just new threads had to be approved...but then a guess there wud b some sneaky cheeky advertising WITHIN them threads.....find anyway to exploit sum ppl will lol!

    I think tho a slight delay (wudnt b more than few hours on avg) before the post/advert was put up wud b acceptable...?

    At end of the day tho its down to Mark to decide...it is afterall his board/money :)

    it's fine for stuff like twisted logic, technorgasm & the tri-hards for example pushing stuff they're doing, but when ppl blatantly take the piss using the board as free advertising for their nights just ban the fuckers :D

    think ur right tho...for board members to post stuff what they are up2 etc is cool (long as dont compete with promise...)

    there is also another possible solution...to stop ppl signing up just to advertise...

    U can make it so people arent allowed to post in a specified forum until their post count is past a certain number....

    Thats another option a guess.
