Support Analyst at a Uni... not very specialised, average pay but there's plenty of little things that make this a pretty good job - pension, flexi time, decent pay scheme, plenty of internal job opportunities, benefits of working for a large public body...

Took me ages to get my first IT job - it was a smallish company that used always take on young people with no IT experience - they give loads of my mates their opportunities to start off in IT

yeah, but not just general day-to-day "push this button, that'll fix it" type stuff, but also finding more long term solutions, offering alternative software/hardware solutions, etc... it all depends on the company... i do development aswell for example

    Here
I cmae out of school with 13 GCSE's A8-B with my Maths taken a year early, decided to stay on at school and got 3 A-Levels in French German and Maths BBC which was quite shit compared to how well I did in GCSE's.

Went to UMIST Uni to do International Management with German, when I got there the course was total wank with the Management being run by UMIST and the German by Manchester Uni so there was no communication between the 2 and the german was like going back to GCSE. I put up a big fuss to change to normal management but because my course only needed BBC and straight management needed AAB I had to put up a fight but loads of people wanted to change so eventually they've discontinued the course cos it was so shit!

So I done a year of IMG, then a year of straight management and in my final year I specialised in Accounting and Finance cos I thought there was a lot of money in it. I just graduated today with a 2:2 cos I didn't actually put any effort into my course at all cos it wasn't really what I wanted to do but I just stuck it out to get a degree.

Have got a job as a mortgage advisor starting on 1st August so hopefully it will be good stuff but it's not what I had envisaged for myself tbh and still don't really know what I'd ideally like to do :)
